Conscious Decisions – A Vital Part of Your Business Success

What is a decision?

A decision is an act that has the power to change your life.

Whenever we have to make a decision about something we think about the immediate consequences that particular decision will have on our life. Our minds can be quite limited to see the endless possibilities that comes with decision making. There is always more than meet the eye and often our decisions will have a much bigger impact than we initially thought.

What do we base our decisions on?
As human beings we are influenced by feelings, logic, other people and their opions, our fears and a wished outcome. We don’t have the power to see the actual outcome and maybe that is for the best.

Should we base our decisions on the above? We should base them on the outcome we want to achieve – the dream we have and how much closer our decisions will bring us towards our goals.

How to make sure you make the right decision
Whenever you have made the right decision you will feel it. If your heart is calm and you feel good about what you have done you have most probably made a good decision. However when it comes to business you also need to make sure it is actually a wise decision for your business.

  • What do you want to achieve? Is it a smart – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely goal?
  • Will you be able to do it yourself? Don’t try and be “super” at everything you do – by making the most of other peoples skills you can actually get things done better than if you would have done it yourself. Worth to remember.
  • Put all feelings of fear and discomfort aside. Fear paralyze us and instead of doing we are worrying about what will happen. Don’t let that happen, it may be a bit uncomfortable at first but once you do it you will feel so good for doing it.
  • Is it aligned with your life values? Don’t ever do anything that is not aligned with what you believe in.
  • Will it distract you from what should be your focus? There are so many opportunities presented to us that we want to do everything at the same time. What is your focus right now and is this the right time for something new?

You have the power to decide how your life will be. You can change circumstances more than you imagine,  you make the world you live in and what you decide to do in it is up to you. Don’t regret the things that never were but think about the things you actually can change. What decision can you take today that will change the way you live for the better?

Is Your Confidence Deceiving You?

Is Your Confidence Deceiving You? Is it causing you to believe what is not true?

How confident are you when it comes to making business decisions? How confident are you that your decision is the right one and the outcome will be one you desired?

Lacking confidence can be hazardous for your online business. You need to believe in yourself and your business. Afterall, if it wasn’t for you there wouldn’t be a business. You are your business.

There are two things that normally stops us from doing something. One is the question: “Can I do this?”
and the other thing is called delaying a necessary action.

First we procrastinate because we aren’t sure we can do it and then we start telling our selves that now isn’t the right time.  We have to wait a little until _______your reason here__________ (I have enough of this or that or this happens or I do that..)

Are you going to let your confidence stopping you from growing your business?

Here is a short but very powerful statement I heard the other day:

If not Me, then Who? If not Now, then When?

Take a moment to reflect on that. Every time your confidence starts deceiving you that you can’t do something or should wait a little, remind yourself of that statement. However, don’t jump right into opportunities, now might not be the right time. Think through what you want the results to be and if you are delaying the action this very moment because your lack of confidence.

If not You, then who? If not Now, then when?

Improving your self confidence to take action in your business

  • Think about the root of your fears. Is it fear of being rejected, humiliated, laughed at, achieveing success, gaining responsibility or something else?
  • Think thorugh how you can deal with certain situations and if necessary create a system that helps you deal with it.
  • Get an accountability partner to support you. Join a mastermind group.
  • Take classes on speaking in front of a public if that will help you.
  • Take a class on posture and etiquette if that will be beneficial for you.
  • Get a personal shopper to help you choose the right clothes for you if you aren’t sure your clthing is good enough for public meetings.
  • Go to a therapist and discuss your childhood. Much of what we do as adults is realted to our childhood.
  • Do an activity that is not related to your business and will help you feel better as a person.
  • Ask your friends to write down a few of your qualities they like.

There are many things that are not related to business at all that can help you when it comes to running your business. The important thing is that you cannot let your confidence decide for you. Take a step further, it will feel so much better then and the next time it won’t be as hard as the first time. Believe me, I’ve been there and so have most online business owners. You need to push past your confidence and just get going.

Remember: If not You, then Who? If not Now, then When?

Do You Need To Accelerate Your Business Growth?

Do you need to accelerate your business growth? I have a feeling many new online business owners will reply yes to that question. If you feel as if you are not taking the right steps to grow your business continuously then something must be done.

First step to accelerate your business growth:

- Analyze if you really need to accelerate or you should just go at a steady pace. Don’t try to run before you can walk. Slow can be good.

Second step to accelerate yur business growth:
- Find out what you need to do and just do it!

It is tough to run and online business. There are a million things to do and if you aren’t careful you will slow yourself down. Don’t dwell too long on what is right and what to do. Just do it!

One simple solution to accelerate your business growth:
- Get help!

You can get help in form of coaching, learning products, tools and outsourcing. Be careful of what you choose though. Many times the most inexpensive way isn’t the best way. Many times the most expensive option will be the best one. You will need to think through your options carefully before deciding anything.

It doesn’t matter what you need done, getting help with a few things will be better than leaving money on the table because you didn’t take the right action.

Don’t be afraid of asking for help when you need it. Even if you think the answer will be no. you never know what will actually happen. I have had amazing results because I took action and went after what I thought would be impossible. I once paid $60 to get access to a $597 product and service and it has had a huge impact on how I run my business now. Had I not taken the step and asked for help I would have missed out big time! That is a saving of $537 just for taking a chance!

Make sure you are taking advantage of what is being offered to you!

I am dedicated to helping other small online business owners using the power of the internet to their fully rights and I’d love to help you too! Just talk to me! Send me an email, sign up for a consultation to discuss how we can grow your business faster than you ever could on your own. Get help to unleash ideas and options for your business. Don’t try and do everything yourself! I’ve been there, I know it doesn’t work! Remember: Time is limited– make the most of it!

Bonus tips:
Create products that will help time and time again without your needed intervention. Think of how you are leveraging your time!

Today’s question:
Do you feel as if you need to accelerate your business growth? What specific action have you taken that has helped you grow your business?

Are You Working on Tomorrows Profits?

Sometimes it can feel as all your work is not making any difference in your business. Especially if you do not have a real goal and plan for your business and know how to achieve them.

Time management can also be an issue. You spend too much time on things that doesn’t make you any money.

Social networking with a goal
Social networking on Twitter etc is all good and is actually encouraged but is it making you money? There are various ways to use twitter but if you find you are tweeting more than you are working on your business then perhaps it is time to take a break.

Your goal doesn’t need to be money, it can be to increase your email subscribers, get a potential client to check out one of your products, make contacts and much more.

Stay on track and do not let the talking take too much time if it isn’t actually bringing you closer to your goal.

How to make sure you are working on tomorrows profit
Every business has different needs. Right now maybe you need to increase your social media networking, or perhaps you need to do some link building. What you need to do is recognize your most important current needs. Not what you think you should be doing. Do some regular evaluation where you are with your business and plan according to that. Time is scarce – make the most of it!

Imagine that something you do today would have a huge effect on your business tomorrow. What would that be? Is there anything you know you should be doing but you are not doing?

Most importantly:
What are you doing today that will bring you profit tomorrow?

Are you spending your time the right way or do you think you can improve? How do you evaluate what is time wells pent and what is not?

Are You Investing In the Right Products For Your Business?

Every time an Internet Marketing “guru” launches anything they normally do it with a bang. All of a sudden every where you turn there is this perfect product that will make you rich, give you everything you need, increase your list by hundreds per day, automate your life, make it happen! And you cannot live without it!

Or can you? Could you actually do without this new amazing product? How can you determine if this new product is for you? How do you know that you are investing in the right tools and products for your business?

What To Think of Before Buying a New IM Product

  • Ask yourself: is this relevant to what I am doing right now?
  • Is this something I will work on in the near future?
  • Will this have an immediate effect on my business?
  • Do I have the money for this and if not how will I pay it off?
  • Have I taken action on the last thing I bough?

Everything that glitters doesn’t turn into gold, just like every new internet marketing product won’t make you rich.  The product might be great but it will not benefit you unless it is relevant to your business and you take action on it.

How To Evaluate How Good Your Latest IM Product Purchase Was

  • Do you think it was worth the price you paid?
  • Have you taken action on at least half of what was suggested?
  • Have you seen an increase in subscribers/readers/sales etc because of the action you took?
  • Did the product pay for itself? (Did you make the money back?)
  • Would you recommend it to others?

Don’t just be a collector, use the products! Go through them in detail and take advantage of the information inside.

New products come out all the time and you should invest in your business, but only if it will be of true benefit for you.  You should be willing to invest and spend the money if you know that it is something you would take action on.

And remember; you can have whatever you want, it is what you make of it.

How do you decide if it is time to buy a new internet marketing product? When was the last time you bought something? Was it worth it and did you use it?

What Do You Want?

Today as I was walking my son to school I got this insight of how we put limits on ourselves. My son, who is 6, is constantly asking for things. He wants me to buy this and that and this and that and so on. Today his invention was that he wanted a mini motorbike for kids.

I kept saying no, and explained that I don’t think it is safe and so on, but he didn’t hear me. He just kept asking. “Mom, can you buy it, please. Please mom” I think he asked at least ten times (he is very persistent my son) and I kept saying no when it dawned on me: He doesn’t see why he can’t have it. For him everything is possible. In his eyes he can have whatever he wants.

I am in no way spoiling my child so that isn’t what this is about. But when he kept insisting I though to my self that he is so optimistic. And I thought about how we put limits on what we can and cannot do when we grow up.

As adults we start looking at the reasons why we can’t do certain things or buy something we want. We need to pay the bills, we are saving for something, we are measuring if it is a good buy or not, if it is safe, if it will be worth the money and so on. We start building up these walls of “no’s” before we’ve even started thinking about how nice, enjoyable, worthy it would be.

And this made me so sad. Because I see this every day. The inner fighting that goes on inside of us. I see it inside me, inside others and I see how dreams are crushed before they even get a chance to grow.

Our negative thinking is getting in the way of our success!
Thoughts like:

“I can’t do that”
“I’ll never be able to do that as well as …”
“No one is going to want this”
“I’m not qualified enough for this”
“I haven’t got the money to do this”
“There is no way I can get the money to take this course”

Why do we do that? Why are we so limited in our thinking? Many times we stop dreaming and trying before we’ve even had a chance to take the first step. What happens is that we are left with crushed dreams, hidden dreams that are never allowed to become real because we didn’t try. Because we didn’t have the courage to even try to make it real. Or believe in ourselves.

You cannot control other peoples actions or thoughts, but you can control you own. Everything is possible until proven impossible. Sometimes you need to try over and over again until you get what you want.

What do you want? And how are you going to get it? Are you putting invisible limits on yourself and your dreams?

Who Is Responsible For Your Success?

If you haven’t reached the success you originally set out for, then who is to blame? Or what circumstance is to blame?

As humans we are quite good at coming up with excuses for why we didn’t do certain things or why something happened. Taking responsibility seems to be too painful so we rather try and cover up what really happened.

This is often reflected in business as well. The projects we plan, our work, what we do. Sometimes things just don’t work out for one reason or another. What do you do in a situation like that?

Taking Responsibility For Your Actions
This is the first and probably most important step. You need to face the truth and take responsibility for what happened. Because you are most likely to blame.

Who needs to plan the projects in your business?
Who decides weather or not something gets done?
Who is responsible?

You.

If you didn’t lay out a plan for a project and it didn’t work out – you are to blame.

If you didn’t take advantage of the help you needed to get the project done – you are to blame.

If you didn’t seek out experienced help and advice when you needed it – you are to blame.

I know that there will be times that you simply can’t do anything about what happened. But what you can do is have an extra plan, be prepared, research, ask for help and much more. And sometimes, you aren’t to blame. But if you have that nagging feeling that something isn’t right and it isn’t working as it should… then you could well be the one to blame.

If you haven’t reached the success you wanted because you didn’t take the necessary steps needed – you are to blame!

8 Quick Time Management Tips For Online Entrepreneurs

It is interesting to hear people say they wish they had more hours in the day. I used to say that as well. Now I just answer: it is all about how you use your time.

You don’t need more time to get more done, you just need to work more efficiently. This is a vital part of how you achieve the success you have set out for yourself.

It took me some time to get this. To see clearly that what I was prioritizing wasn’t what I needed to do. And at the end of the day I thought I didn’t have enough time to get it all done.

Of course as business owners there will always be days we wish we had more time, but it all comes down to prioritizing.

Feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day and you want more? Here are a 8 quick time management tips for online entrepreneurs:

  1. Make a list of everything you need to do. You can have a large list with various things and a more detailed list.
  2. Decide upon 3-7 things that are priority and that you can do in one day. Set up an action list for how to do it as well if you need to.
  3. Cut down on things you don’t need to do. If what you do have no real purpose or relation with your business you could probably cut down on it.
  4. Learn to delegate and outsource. Great time saver and head ache reliever.
  5. Time yourself to see what you really do spend your time on. You could be well surprised with the answers. Use a time tracker such as Easy Time Tracker. Perfect if you have many projects going on.
  6. Ask yourself: Is this task bringing me closer to the ultimate goal I want to achieve with my business?
  7. Be organized. Know where your things are. Take  a day to re organize your folders and documents on your computer. It will be much easier for you to find the right info when you need it.
  8. Find out when you are most productive during the day and schedule your work then. As you are more productive you will save time.

If you follow these time management tips you will definitely save yourself some time. Decide what is an urgency and do it! The longer you wait the more stressed you will be and your business will suffer. To quote Dave TheLaunch Coach.com: Imagine you only had two hours in a  day to do your work. What would you do then? Now go do it!

That will definitely help you get going. Always check in on yourself to make sure you aren’t wasting time where you shouldn’t.

Do you use your time efficiently or do you often wish you had more time? What do you consider being a waste of time?

How on earth is it possible to balance your offline life and you online business? This is something that many online entrepreneurs struggle with. How can you balance your offline life and your online business without going crazy at the same time?

Way too often we see biz owners trying to do it all themselves and then not understanding why it isn’t working. If they are spending so much of their time working on their business, why is it that they don’t see the results and their family life is in total chaos?

It Doesn’t Need To Be Difficult – There Is Help To Get
What we miss out on many times is that we are the ones making it difficult for us. We often miss the real problem and concentrate on things that aren’t really important. Or are of less importance. And then we stress and stress until we hit the bottom and think it is about time to pack it up.

Well it needn’t be so difficult. You probably just need to figure out what works for you. No business is the same and no person is the same so what someone else does might not work for you.

Look at what strategies you put up when you started your business and see how well they are aligned with what you have today. Perhaps you need to change your strategy a bit to make sure it works for you today.

One thing is sure: there are ways for you to find balance with your online business and offline life! Sometimes it just takes a bit longer to get it all together.  For an easy start below are five easy steps for balancing your business and family life.

5 Easy Steps For Balancing Your Business And Offline Life

  1. Take a good look at everything you do every day. Are you doing things that are helping you make money or really grow your business or are you spending time on unnecessary things?
  2. Once you have analyzed what you do every day check if you can get help from someone else to do it so you can concentrate on what really makes you money. Remember: Sometimes it is necessary to spend money to make money.
  3. Talk to your family and discuss your current work schedule and what the ultimate work day would look like.
  4. Make sure you have a set time when you start and finish work. Come 5 o’clock – turn off the computer or stop what you are doing. Decide on a time you will finish work and do it.
  5. Concentrate on one thing at a time.  If you are focused you will be able to perform a better job and save a lot of time while doing so.

Don’t go at it alone, get help if you need to. Talk to other online biz owners and ask how they do it. Don’t accept defeat, if you have a bad day continue working on what you started the next day. It will improve and it is normally never as bad as we think it is.
