"Do Nothing Days" are great. They keep you focused on the difference between work and play, but you should perhaps treat a "do nothing day" as a third weekend-day, even if it's not every week.

This way, you are rewarding yourself for all your hard work - as long as in your remaining 4 day working week, you do actually work hard.

Your "do nothing day" can also be that day in which you can have peace and quiet instead of the hustle and bustle of a weekend with shopping, family and days out on the town or at the park. Instead, it can be a day that allows you to take a step back and contemplate you rlife and your owrk.

Most of my good ideas come as a result of taking time out.

I agree that you can and should profit from your passion if you have the drive to do so.

The only think I will say is that, whilst it is as simple as sitting down in your lounge with your laptop working away at your website or whatever you do, it's important to remember that - just because you have the passion doesn't mean it won't be hard work - because it is.

Too many people give up quickly because they don't see the results they want. From personal experience I think you have to make short, mid-term and long-term plans and goals, set yourself milestones and simply go for it.

Linda, nice article. It's also important to point out that results don't start flowing in over night. It takes time and directed effort to start drawing the required traffic to your site in order to start building the cash flow. So basically, don't give up. It will come together.

It's always struck me that being enthusiastic about what you do is likely to be central to your success.

Apart from anything else, there will be times when the going gets tough. This can be hard to get past, particularly if you're doing something "for the money", or "because you have to". I'm not saying that passion is enough on its own, but it can certainly give you a massive boost.

I totally agree with you passion is so important but if u're not willing to work and put effort into the equation then your passion isn't going to get you anywhere, it's the combination of these two that will make you successful. thanks for a great post

You are so right that FEAR keeps people from moving forward! Also, isolation. Many people try to tackle doing what they've always wanted to do without the right guidance and coaching. It's kind of like being the new kid at school - find someone who's been there a while to show you where the food and restrooms are so you don't starve wandering around trying to find em!
